  • 1.25 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6.5 oz all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4.2 oz powdered sugar
  • 2.5 tbsp strawberry puree
  • 1 tsp butter (for filling)
  • 1 fl oz milk
  • 0.5 tsp lemon juice
  • 6 oz strawberry jam

Instructions

  1. Cream together unsalted butter and sugar until light and fluffy in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
  3. Gradually incorporate flour and salt until a soft dough forms; wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and roll out the chilled dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Cut out heart shapes using a cookie cutter and place half on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. In another bowl, blend powdered sugar, strawberry puree, softened butter, milk, and lemon juice until smooth.
  7. Spoon half a teaspoon of strawberry jam onto each cookie shape on the baking sheet.
  8. Top with another heart-shaped cookie and gently press to seal; bake for about 10 minutes until golden.
