12 slices white bread
8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons fresh dill (minced)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 English cucumber
Fresh pepper (to taste)
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, blend softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, minced dill, lemon juice, garlic powder, and salt until smooth.
Peel the cucumber in stripes for texture and slice it into 1/8 inch rounds using a mandoline or sharp knife.
Trim the crusts off the bread slices and spread about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture on one side of each slice.
Layer thin cucumber slices on top of the filling, adding cracked pepper and extra dill if desired.
