  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 cup dried apple rings, chopped
  • 3/4 cup candy-coated chocolate pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pop the popcorn kernels and place in a large mixing bowl, discarding unpopped kernels.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, then stir in brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt until boiling.
  4. Boil for 4 to 5 minutes without stirring; then remove from heat and mix in baking soda and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour caramel sauce over popcorn and gently toss with a spatula to coat evenly.
  6. Spread coated popcorn on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 40 minutes, stirring every 10 to 15 minutes.
