  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 6 drops red food coloring
  • 1½ cups water

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and prepare your workspace.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray it with cooking oil.
  3. Blanch the apples by dipping them in boiling water for 10 seconds, then cool them in an ice bath.
  4. Insert wooden sticks halfway into each apple and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. In a pot over medium-high heat, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water; stir until dissolved.
  6. Boil until the mixture reaches 300-310°F; remove from heat.
  7. Quickly stir in food coloring to achieve an even color.
  8. Dip each apple in the candy mixture; let excess drip off before placing back on the baking sheet.
  9. Allow to harden for about 5 minutes before slicing into servings.
