  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix blueberries with cornstarch and lemon juice; set aside.
  3. Beat cream cheese with granulated sugar, lemon zest, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface; spread cream cheese mixture over it and top with blueberries.
  5. Cut strips along the sides of the pastry and braid by folding alternating strips toward the center.
  6. Brush the braid with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired. Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Whisk powdered sugar and milk together for glaze; drizzle over the cooled braid.
